I seek to choreograph the invisible of ourselves, to reveal this 'off-screen' that underlies life.
– Michèle Noiret

Michèle Noiret is a leading artist in the world of contemporary dance in Belgium and abroad.

She is the author of nearly forty choreographies, including commissions for the Ballet de l’Opera de Paris, the Ballet de Nancy and the Ballet de Marseille.

Since 1996, she has introduced interactive sound and image technologies into her choreographic research, questioning our perceptions of time and space. The choreographer likes to use these tools to blur the lines and create confusion. In 2003, the critic Gérard Mayen was the first to use the expression «dance-cinema» to describe her work.

Her universe is a mark on the imagination, as are her «choreographic characters» and the special links she creates between dance and other artistic disciplines. Her performances explore the human being, his or her flaws, desires and the chaotic world we live in.

Associate artist at the Théâtre National de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles from 2006 to 2017, at the Théâtre Les Tanneurs from 2000 to 2006, and regularly supported by the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, her company is now independent and based in Brussels. Michèle Noiret is a member of the Académie Royale de Belgique.

Compagnie Michèle Noiret is supported by the Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles, Service Général de la Création Artistique - Service de la Danse and by Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI).
